Benedictine Center Re-Opening

The Benedictine
Center is Re-Opening this fall!

In our April newsletter, we talked about “A Time of Renewed Growth” and planting seeds for the future of the Benedictine Center.  In June, Mary Elizabeth Ilg wrote about “Re-entry in the World” as we are slowly coming out of the pandemic.  In that spirit, we are very pleased to announce the Benedictine Center will be re-opening its doors and accepting guests starting September 1.   Thanks to your support and prayers, we begin again the ministry of hospitality and “Welcoming All as Christ.”  This moment has been a long time coming, and the Sisters and staff are looking forward to welcoming you back to the sacred space of St. Paul’s Monastery!

Many of you have already sent inquiries about coming to the Center this fall, either as personal retreatants or groups.   Thank you for your patience!   Now that we have firm plans for re-opening, we are in the process of formalizing these reservations and will be accepting new requests, either by calling 651-777-7251 or inquiring online for either a Personal Retreat or Group Conferencing.

As you can imagine, the protocols for safely reopening have been evolving rapidly over the course of the summer.   Therefore, as we work with you on making your reservations, we will provide you with the updated policies and protocols to ensure all guests, staff and Sisters can once again engage in life-giving and safe in-person interactions.

Initially, our ministry restart will focus on hosting individual and group retreatants, as well as resuming on-site spiritual direction sessions.  But we are also exploring some promising opportunities to plant new seeds for different forms of spiritual formation and outreach ministry.   We are excited about the possibilities for new ways of serving the spiritual needs of our community, and we look forward to sharing more details in the coming months!

To that end, we invite you to participate in an online survey (see below) to help us learn what you would most like to see at the Benedictine Center in the future.  Restarting the ministry provides a unique opportunity to take a fresh look at how the Center can best serve your spiritual needs and reimagine the ministry going forward.   Please consider participating in this short 7-minute survey to help us determine which new seeds to plant.

We look forward to seeing you again!
