God Is Everywhere And Does Everything

God Is Everywhere And Does Everything

"When you regain a sense of your life as a journey of discovery, you return to rhythm with yourself….When the destination becomes gracious, the journey becomes an adventure of beauty." - John O’Donohue

I created this piece to illustrate my experience of God. I have been dealing with cancer for over half of my life. My relationship with God has been a refuge for me. My path has not been an easy one and continues to present challenges.

On the cross are symbols of Gods suffering with me in the crown of thorns and teardrops. Also there are symbols of God’s helping hands- bringing me hope and carrying me when I can’t walk forward. Gods all seeing eye is there- watching over me. There are symbols of the wonder of God’s creation in the trinity of the planets, the stars, the moon.  You can see keys and gears which represent trying to pretend life is okay (when it’s not) and the work of finding our way to heaven and learning how to open those doors.   On the bottom half you can see blue stars lighting the way to heaven. The coins contain messages that have been important to me in my life. Finally in the middle is a heart with a seed in it. This represents the hope of the mustard seed, and Gods ever present love for me.
